Favor Of Feminism

we know feminism is about all genders having equal rights and opportunities. In general, feminism can be seen as a movement to put an end to sexist exploitation, and oppression and to achieve full gender equality in law and in practice. But in today’s world, we can see different phases of feminism, Different feminists talk about equal rights for both genders( males or females) but there are already some special laws for females that males don’t have, so why does feminism talk about those equal rights? There are some examples of laws that are only for women like

IPC 509 – A man can be punished for intention to insult the modesty of any woman to intrude upon her privacy by a fine and one year prison. No such punishment for women having the intent to intrude on a man’s privacy.

No protection of men from any false and frivolous allegations made by women with malicious intentions.

The married women’s property act, 1874(3 of 1874) – Husbands don’t have any rights over women’s property on marriage and also no protection of the husband from his wife’s premarital debts. IPC 498 – Enticing taking away or detaining a married woman with criminal intent. Punishment of two years Imprisonment for the man. No penalty for women committing the same crime.

Protection under the Factories Act – No women should be given any shift other than between 6 am to 7 pm (Sec 66), Prohibiting women from being employed in certain jobs unless certain conditions are met, and Suitable sanitation facilities for women. If more than 30 women are employed, the employer must provide certain facilities on the factory premises. Also Given that close to 90,000 to 1 lakh cases are investigated every year, the figure makes it one of the most abused laws in the country. So feminism talks about equal rights but this is not equality.  feminism should be against this system but today it’s just taken a form of a fight against men. There’s no need for this feminism in our society which makes these two genders against each other.
